The first topic that was brought up was a new model of learning called Connected Learning Community. According to the authors, traditional professional development is a lot of the time not effective at all because it is isolated and lacks continuity. Since they have a dislike for this development, they suggested a more adaptable and dynamic strategy that combines regional cooperation with international networking. This strategy encourages professional agency and long-term development. This way promotes customized and continuous learning, moving from one-size-fits-all training to allow more growth in this way of learning.
Three fundamental elements form the core of the CLC model: Communities of Practice, Professional Learning Communities, and Personal Learning Networks. Communities of practice are more personal, frequently worldwide communities of educators that collaborate over time to increase their level of knowledge because they have similar passions. Professional Learning Communities are school-based teams that work together through research and collaborations to improve teacher and student learning. Personal Learning Networks are independent online networks that educators create using the internet, blogs, and social media. Each one of these groups provides a different way to achieve collaboration, education, and career advancement.
The authors emphasize how important it is to have a common language in order to identify these kinds of learning communities. Teachers are encouraged to use all three of these strategies to provide a complete, connected learning environment. It provides teachers the ability to take control of their students' education, make deep relationships with the students, and gain a range of perspectives of the learning of the students. Through connected learning, teachers are included in a wider, worldwide discussion instead of being restricted to their classrooms or schools. In the end, this approach results in more creative education and better learning outcomes for the students to make them the most successful.

Hey Jimmy, Thank you for sharing this post. I really like how you worded this post. It made it much easier to understand and grasp the information from the chapter. You also mentioned common language and how important it is for these models to function properly. With new technology, communication has become so much easier, and I believe that technology is starting to become the common language.
